Volkswagen UK has recently and modestly lifted the prices of its models. The Polo range was included in the increases, and now starts at £10,490 for the 1.2-litre, 59bhp S three-door. The GTI now nudges just over £20,000 for the first time at £20,050 for the five-door variant, while the new eco-performance Polo BlueGT with cylinder deactivation starts at £17,400 for the three-door car with a six-speed manual gearbox. All Polos in the UK have the option of a 3-year/30,000 (whichever is soonest) service plan for £329, which includes oil change service at 12 months/10,000 miles; interval service (including oil change) at 24 months/20,000 miles; inspection service (including oil change) at 36 months/30,000 miles. Polo prices have also risen in India. Prices of the hatchback and its Vento booted saloon sister have gone up by 2.27 per cent. The Polo will now cost between Rs 4.92 lakh and Rs 7.08 lakh, while the Vento will be available between Rs 7.32 and Rs 9.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, both models are now fitted with USB media connection, Bluetooth, electronic air-conditioning and a whole host of other tempting value-added equipment as standard.
