The New Polo – ‘Drive Confident.’
advertising commercial
So here it is, the first television commercial for the New Polo. While the refreshed 6R model (we’ll still call it the 6R (F) for now until an official designation is given) stars at the Geneva motor show, Volkswagen has released this 67-second spot for the car. Showcasing the New Polo’s class-leading technology, it hints, by using hip and trendy youngsters, that while it may look the same as the outgoing car, there’s a lot that’s actually different. Just like the two opposing sides of the Polo drivers this ad shows the viewer. The New Polo goes on sale in April with UK-bound deliveries expected in July.
We are trying very hard to educate our children in proper grammar.
Drive Confident is grammatically wrong and very annoying – it should be Drive Confidently.
You must be annoying a very large proportion of would-be buyers of this car – I know quite a few who are so annoyed at this glaring mistake that they have said they would definitely not buy one.
Hi Suzy
I’m afraid it’s not me who is ‘very annoying’, it’s Volkswagen itself.
I am in no means affiliated with Volkswagen and am only a blog/fan site promoting the Polo.
Maybe you should direct your comments to Volkswagen instead?
Thank you for your comment,
Rich
Hi Suzy
Official reply from Volkswagen’s UK Press Office: ‘We understand the criticism but this is a slogan being used across Europe and not one we can change for the UK this time.’
